Training Period
For horses needing to be brought back into work, we recommend an initial 2-week fitness-building phase. This ensures they are physically prepared to gain the most benefit from their time in training.
All horses are assessed on arrival, and timeframes may be adjusted depending on individual needs and progress.
Schooling Approach
Meraki Equine offers a balanced and comprehensive approach to schooling, working with a wide range of horses—from established performance horses through to those requiring further direction or development.
With extensive experience across training and production, we tailor each program to the individual. This may include maintaining a horse in regular work, refining education, or addressing specific training challenges as they arise.
We also work with horses presenting behavioural or training difficulties. In these cases, we take a calm, structured approach focused on understanding the cause of the issue and creating a clear path forward.
Where required, we collaborate with trusted equine professionals to ensure the horse’s physical and mental wellbeing is fully supported.
Training Philosophy
Horses require clarity, consistency, and variety in their work. A well-rounded training program allows them to build confidence through positive, structured experiences, supported by fair and appropriate reinforcement.
Our aim is always a horse that is willing, relaxed, and understands what is being asked of them. When confusion arises, it is our responsibility to adjust, not the horse’s responsibility to endure.
We believe in working with the horse, not against them. Training should be fair, thoughtful, and progressive—creating horses that are not only trained, but truly understood.
